I Ate the Bread of Idleness

Friday when I picked the girls up from their sitter I was told to sit on the couch and close my eyes. So I did. (If you wanna know the truth I was thinking that the Cockerspaniel at the sitter's house had puppies and that she was going to try to 'paw'n one off on me. Thoughts start rushing through my head like: I'm not very good at "No", we would need to get a fence, the girls would LOVE a dog) Now that I think about it, the dog isn't even pregnant and to top it off it's a male dog! So Irrational!)

Anyways, I open my eyes to see this:

They said, "Happy Mother's Day!"

They were sooooo proud!

The sweetest thing about it was the paint all over the girls shirts from the paint. I know it sounds crazy, but I just have this vision in my head of them sitting at the miniature picnic table finger painting, knowing that they were painting these vases just for me!

Friday night I stayed up until 11:00 folding laundry, vacuuming, mopping, and washing dishes so that Saturday and Sunday I could (eat the bread of idleness) enjoy the day and be with my girls instead of worrying about a "to-do" list. Let's face it when you have a 2 year old and a 3 year old no matter how hard you try there's not much idleness going on! Saturday after we woke up and ate breakfast, we hit the road. One particular road, the one that took us straight to the beach! It was the first time I had ever taken them to the beach, they had both been before just with other people. We met my mom and sister there. We all had the best time! B could not join us due to he had the Swine Flu. No I am not 100% sure that's what he had but I am sure he had a lot of symptoms like chest pain, coughing up "stuff", achy back, and sweating like a PIG at night. So there you have my version of the Swine Flu.

(Do your best Jeff Foxworthy voice) You know you're from Hilliard when.........

...you're 3 year old knows how to crack open her own boiled peanuts!!!!

Oh, and guess who followed us all the way to the beach.......

No I am NOT kidding!

We had just gotten to where you can drive on the beach, we had the windows down, and the kids were looking out the window and Hayley spotted it! She said,"Momma, is that the ice cream truck?" I can't remember what I told her but later they spotted it again and on one side it only has pictures of food food like hot dogs, chips and stuff. So I tried to convince her that, that particular "ice cream" truck only sold hot dogs.

I hope everyone had a

Happy Mother's Day

(even to those of you expecting)

I am proud of you not making any excuses about not being able to give yourself your time also! You are so deserving to have that for yourself.
